Emoluments: Emoluments in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) plus Dearness Allowance thereon are paid to the GDS. The applicable TRCA to different categories are as under:

The minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years and the age should not be more than 40 years.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for the PwD candidates.

Selection Process for India Post GDS
The India Post Recruitment selection process for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) is based on a merit-based shortlisting system. Candidates will be assessed on their academic performance in the 10th standard examination and must meet all eligibility criteria as per the official notification. 1. Shortlisting
Candidates will be shortlisted for engagement based on a system-generated merit list. Is there any interview for GDS post ?

Is GDS a full time job ?
GDS work is part time in nature and for this work, they are being paid Time Related Continuity Allowance. In addition, it is imperative for every GDS to have alternate means of livelihood for their engagement. Annexure-I.
