Assam Veterinary Recruitment 2025
On 19th February 2025, the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Assam, Chenikuthi, Guwahati-03, released an official notification for the recruitment of 445 vacancies for Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) and allied cadre posts.
The directorate has invited applications in the standard application format from eligible candidates. Applicants can submit their applications in person at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Assam, or send them via Registered Post before the last date.
There is no online application mode for this recruitment. Candidates must ensure they follow the prescribed offline application process.
Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 18 years old as of 1st January 2022 and should not exceed 40 years of age as of 1st January 2025.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates.
Pay Scale: Selected candidates will receive a salary in Pay Band-2, ranging from ₹14,000/- to ₹70,000/-, along with a Grade Pay of ₹6,200/- and other allowances as per government norms.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSSLC (Science) with Biology as one of the subjects. Additionally, they must have completed a one-year certificate course in Elementary Knowledge of Veterinary Science from a recognized school of the School of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, established by the Government of Assam at Ghungoor, Silchar.
Physical Standard: Candidates applying for direct recruitment to the Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) cadre must be in sound health, both mentally and physically, and should be free from any organic defects or bodily infirmities that may interfere with the efficient performance of their duties. Before appointment, candidates will be required to undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the necessary health standards.
How to Apply for Assam Veterinary Recruitment ?
- The intending candidates may apply in standard form as per part IX of the Assam Gazette for application along with testimonials and a self-addressed envelope affixing stamp of Rs. 5/- for communication. The duly filled in Application should be addressed to the Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam, Chenikuthi, Guwahati-781003 and be submitted physically in the Drop Box during office hours on or before 6th March, 2025 (5.00 PM) at the Directorate or by Registered Post.
- Applicants must affix 1 (One) copy of recent photograph on the space provided in the application form firmly with good quality glue/adhesive and also should enclose another copy along with the application. The Photograph must be signed prominently. The Directorate of A.H. & Veterinary shall not be responsible for detachment/loss of the photograph.
- Since the practice of furnishing attested copies of Certificates/marks sheets etc. by competent authority has been discontinued by the Govt., the applicant shall furnish copies of Certificates/mark sheets etc. declared by himself/herself as certified to be true copy of the Original along with the application.
